Wanderlust Wednesday Fika & Wine!

Wanderlust Wednesday brought to you by Fika & Wine from the beautiful city of Stockholm! 🇸🇪

Stockholm was a city that I couldn’t wait to visit and one that seemed a perfect fit after the crazy covid years with its beautiful archipelago, charming architecture, colourful streets and all the cakes and pastries a girl could want to keep in line with their fabulous Fika tradition… a city that was always going to capture my heart! It’s somewhere that I feel everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime and take with them that Lagom outlook for a balanced lifestyle : Not too little, not too much. Just right!

On the printer today : Fika & Wine

Printed and ready for its new home in Canada!

It shows just how special this beautiful city is to almost everyone who visits as Fika & Wine has now made its way to new homes in Australia, Canada, Germany, USA and mainland UK!

Have you ticked Stockholm off your bucket list?

Wanderlust Wednesday Bath City Edition!

‘It isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do’ - Jane Austen

A Wanderlust Wednesday brought to you with a first time visit to the beautiful city of Bath.

It’s hard to believe that we are on to the last day of April already, but what a month it has been! If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen that I started the month in beautiful Bath, a city that had been on my cityscape wish list for awhile now.  From the The Royal Crescent to The Curve, The Roman Baths to The Weir and a museum dedicated to the author of my namesake, Bath is a city that everyone should visit at least once to experience its charming character!  Not only is it surrounded in history, but its beautiful Georgian architecture takes you on a journey back in time to give it that perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!

Good Morning Bath - Famous for its beautiful architecture and charming little streets, it’s hard not to fall in love with this city and its character traits!

The Roman Baths - Constructed in 70 AD as a socialising and bathing temple containing natural spring water which the Romans believed would help purify, cleanse and heal.

The Night Crescent (The Royal Crescent, Bath). Inspired by the crescent moon, this row of 30 terraced houses was designed and constructed between 1767 - 1774 by architect John Wood and son.

As with most of my cityscape trips I will be working towards a Love From Bath photography print series that I hope to add to my print shop this Summer season as it seems only right to coincide with the big Jane Austen 250th celebrations!

‘Because you believed, it happened’

Kicking off 2023 with another business goal of mine ticked off the list : 500 Etsy sales! I think it’s important as a small business owner to celebrate all wins no matter how big or how small they may seem! Although it took a little longer than ticking it off my 2021-2022 list, it makes me so happy to know that even in these difficult financial times we find ourselves in with a cost of living crisis, people are still connecting with my photography. It really is true what they say, whenever you buy from a small business, an actual person does a little happy dance!

So, here is to chasing dreams and ticking off that next business goal!

Hello Again Travel, Hello Stockholm!

Lagom : not too much, not too little, just right

After almost three years with no foreign travel I was finally able to tick the beautiful city of Stockholm off my bucket list!  I don’t know if it was due to my love of ABBA or that simple Scandinavian lifestyle that I’m drawn to, but something about Stockholm was calling out, and what better to have kickstarted travelling again with somewhere completely new!

A city filled with colourful and characteristic architecture, cobbled streets leading from island to island, a culture that encourages you to find life’s balance and that all important tradition of Fika! Stockholm is a city that everyone needs to visit at least once in their lifetime to experience that high vibing energy.  Although a second Winter had hit during my April visit with temperatures dropping to -6 (I’m sure nothing compared to their actual winter temperatures) I couldn’t help but notice how re-energised I felt.  It was so easy to switch off from the real world and focus completely on the surroundings of this beautiful new city and dreamy islands. I don’t think I’ve ever come away from somewhere feeling so happy and so sad all at the same time because I did not want to leave its way of life!  There is something to be said for just how special a place is when you feel like you have left a piece of your heart there and turns out that Stockholm is that special place for me.  I can now see why so many decide to up and relocate there after their trips!

Postcard stories from beautiful Stockholm

Although I did not get to experience a proper Stockholm sunset, I did get to see it blanketed in a light (and unexpected) covering of snow, making my trip even more special and giving me a reason to visit again!  I would love nothing more than to explore more of its hidden gems and more of Sweden itself, maybe rent out one of those cute little red houses to watch a sunrise / sunset on one of those many lakes…

Now to visualise… and for Belfast to start a direct route!

Ticked off my list:

A Sense Of Wanderlust

‘She wasn’t bored, just restless between adventures’ - Atticus

Goodbye April, Hello May! What a strange and very surreal April it has been, a month of glorious sunshine and absolutely nowhere to go to take full advantage of it.  Instead of ticking off the road trips that I have had planned on my Northern Ireland/Ireland bucket list I have been using this lockdown time to go back through my older travel photographs to create a series of wanderlust prints.

It’s an unusual feeling knowing that as of right now there are no plans for future trips, but I have found comfort in going through my travel photos and taking the time to appreciate each and every detail.  It has been a fun process to go back in time and work on the photographs that I feel might appeal to people right now to add a touch of that much needed wanderlust to their home decor.

Below are just some of my new wanderlust prints available for purchase, you might recognise them as some of your favourite holiday locations or a place that is on your bucket list….
